This Bergama hand knotted rug is a classic example of a well-known design from the prolific Bergama (ancient Pergamon) region of Western Turkey. Unlike most other rugs like this, this one has a thick pile, which indicates that it is probably a nomadic weaving piece. This highly collectible piece is very finely woven, with soft and lustrous wool.
The Bergama Hand Knotted Rug is characterized by a central medallion surrounded by a variety of smaller geometric motifs, forming a kaleidoscopic appearance. The color palette is based on red, blue, and ivory tones.
Hand-knotted rug; 100% wool with natural dyes.
